I came to the conclusion that I really only post in here once a quarter. I mean to update the world, but I get lost in the day to day -- and next thing you know it, four months have passed. I think I was planning on setting myself a reminder....
Not much to update on. Same only summer, same recession everyone else is feeling. My family is resolute, finding creative ways to save money/energy. My boys are also trying to reduce their electronic imprint. They told me the other day they turn off the Xbox for a few hours a day to save energy. Insert parental scowl, as I know darned well that they had turned it of to let it cool down. I do have to give them points for creativity though.
Still employed at Symantec, even after some major change. When I started 10 years ago, it was a much smaller company. We've purchased several extremely large companies since then and have grown to a very large worldwide company. I've done some travel for the company: Dallas, Nashville, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, Portsmouth, NH and a nice trip to Aruba. I enjoy it, but don't like to be away too long. The warmth of my family is far to valuable to be away from for more than a few days. I have had a few 10 day trips that have been pretty hard, but we've had fewer and fewer trips recently thankfully. I enjoy working in the team I am in, and for the person I report to. Who can ask for more than that, right?
